This year’s edition of Ghana Meets Naija will be held on 9th June 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) and it promises to be a thrilling night of fantastic performance judging from the artist billed to perform.
Annual Ghana Meets Naija is one of the most anticipated and fun-filled even that is highly patronized by both Ghanaians and Nigerians.
You see, as far as we can remember, Ghanaians and Nigerians have been battling over everything from history, events, sports to entertainment. Ghana Meets Naija grants music lovers the chance to choose which of the African giants has the best artists on the continent.
Artist billed to perform at this year’s Ghana Meets Naija are Stonebwoy, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Patapaa, and Fancy Gadam representing Ghana and Wizkid, Mayorkun, and Mr. Eazi representing Nigeria.
Interestingly, Shatta Wale the obvious biggest artist in Ghana presently as well as the rap king Sarkodie were not included in this year’s event. Ghpage.com now knows why.
According to movie producer and entertainment critic Ola Micheal, Shatta Wale was dropped from the list because Wizkid vowed never to appear on the stage if Shatta Wale is included.
In late 2017, Shatta Wale and Wizkid fans were embroiled in a series of social beef where Shatta Wale and his fans even vowed to attack Wizkid if he ever sets foot in Ghana.
It all started when Shatta Wale had an interview on Kasapa FM, stating that he hardly considers Wizkid a superstar. Shatta Wale said:
“I WILL NOT SEE WIZKID AND BE STUNNED, I RATHER WANT HIM TO SEE ME AND BE AMAZED BECAUSE I DON’T SEE ANYTHING EXTRAORDINARY ABOUT HIM, EVEN THOUGH HE CLAIMS TO THE BEST AFRICAN ARTISTE”
Well, it appears Wizkid has not gotten over the beef Shatta Wale started with him even though he is yet to say something loud about it in the media.
